What's Happening At Messiah?

New Worship times starting November 4, 2007 Our congregation has been experiencing what can be called a “happy problem”. A “happy problem” is a problem that needs to be dealt with but it is one that is good to have. Our happy problem is the growing attendance and lack of enough space at 2nd service. The dilemma was how to create more space to welcome visitors and bring members of the congregation together. One option was to build a bigger sanctuary and another was to add a third service. After conversation at Council and feed back at several ministry team meetings and open forums the decision was made (after several hours of discussion) to add a third service to the Sunday morning schedule, although the possibility of a larger sanctuary in the near future is an option. After discussion at the quarterly meeting on October 14, it was decided to modify the Sunday schedule once again. The schedule for Sunday morning beginning November 4th is: 1st Service – 8:00 to 8:50 This service will be in the style of the current 8:00 service. Based on the service settings in the ELW, music will be lead by the Worship Choir and the organ/piano. 2nd Service 9:00 to 9:50 This service will blend worship styles and will be a diverse mix of music. It is intended to be interactive and cross-generationally friendly. KFC -- 10:00 to 10:45 3rd Service – 11:00 to 11:50 This service will be in the style of the current Contemporary service with music being lead by the Worship band.
